MODEL CALLS

From time to time, HAIR FOR THE PEOPLE offers complimentary hair services as part of our ongoing work. These opportunities exist to support content creation, education, testing new methods or products, and professional training.

Model calls are not standard appointments. They are collaborative, educational sessions led by the studio or by outside educators, with clear boundaries and expectations.

Who This Is For

Model calls are for people who are open, flexible, and comfortable participating in creative or educational work. They are also intentionally offered as an access option for individuals who want professional hair services but are not currently able to afford the cost of regular salon appointments.

Because services are provided free of charge, model calls come with clear conditions:

• The service is led by the studio and based on current creative, educational, or technical needs

• Models have limited control over the final result

• Appointments may be longer than standard services

• Participation in photography and/or video is required, with signed consent

Model calls exist to share access without lowering standards. They are a way to redistribute resources, support learning, and make professional care available beyond traditional pricing structures.

What a Model Call Is

Model calls may be used for:

• Content creation (photography, video, social media, website use)

• Testing or refining new techniques, methods, or products

• Education, demonstrations, or small classes

All services provided during a model call are free of charge.

Important Expectations

By applying for a model call, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

• Creative control: Services are directed by the studio. Models have limited say in the final result.

• Time flexibility: Appointments may run longer than standard services.

• No guarantees: Outcomes are exploratory by nature and may differ from regular client services.

• Content use: Models must consent to photography and/or video being taken before, during, and after the service.

Participation requires signing a model and media release form prior to the appointment. Without signed consent, services cannot proceed.

Selection Process

Submitting the form does not guarantee selection. Models are chosen based on current needs, suitability for the project, hair history, and availability.

If selected, you will be contacted directly with details. If not selected, your information may be kept on file for future opportunities unless you request otherwise.
